Vantek - Acrylic Resin

VANTEK Concrete Restoration and Protection When used as an admixture, ACRYLIC RESIN improves flexural strength and provides freeze, thaw, moisture, and some chemical resistance. When used as a bonding agent, ACRYLIC RESIN provides for superior bond adhesion. Benefits & Features • Made in USA • Low odor, VOC Compliant • Non-Flammable • Superior bond with high strength • Non-re-emulsifiable • Use in wet environments • Interior or exterior • Improves freeze-thaw resistance VANTEK CRP | NEWTON GROVE, NC | VANTEKCRP.COM APRIL 2024 Packaging 1 gallon (3.8 L) 2/box (#VTK1008) 5 gallon (19.8 L) pail (#VTK1007) ACRYLIC RESIN Acrylic Resin is a unique formulation of high-performance acrylic polymers. It is designed for use as a bonding agent or as an admixture. Use with V-Krete, Portland cement, mortar, and stucco. ACRYLIC RESIN improves adhesion, flexural strength, moisture and some chemical resistance as it prevents liquids absorption. Production Description Industry Uses Vantek Acrylic Resin Concentrate As a bonding agent or primer: 200 to 300 sq. ft. per gallon (4.9-7.4 m2/L) (1 part ACRYLIC RESIN to 3 parts water) As an admixture with V-KRETE/VANTEK SLAT PATCH: For general use, mix 1 part ACRYLIC RESIN to 3 parts water. For 1/2 in. or less overlays, mix 1 part ACRYLIC RESIN to 1 part water. For edging acid exposure areas and thin overlays, use ACRYLIC RESIN mixed with water 1:1. With cement, mortar, and stucco: One part ACRYLIC RESIN with three parts water Coverage & Use Limitations • Do not apply ACRYLIC RESIN Resin modified mixes when temperature is below 45oF (7oC) or when temperature is expected to fall below 45oF (7oC) within 48 hrs. High humidity (over 85%) and excessive moisture will retard or prevent curing of ACRYLIC RESIN modified mixes. • Do not use with air entrained cement. Do not use ACRYLIC RESIN where circulation of air is limited, i.e.: enclosed reservoirs. Do not fill cisterns, tanks, etc., with water for at least 7-8 days when coated with mortars mixed with ACRYLIC RESIN. For pools, allow at least 72 hours and preferably 96 hours for surface to dry prior to adding water. • PROTECT FROM FREEZING. Prolonged or intermittent freezing will damage contents. Frozen material should immediately be placed in a warm area to thaw, but direct heat should not be applied. If ACRYLIC RESIN can be stirred after thawing and is a uniform consistency, bonding qualities have not been impaired. Clean Up Use soap and water to clean tools and equipment immediately after use.

It is best to let the repair remain dry for the full cure cycle. Product Mixing For use as a bonding agent: Thoroughly blend ACRYLIC RESIN and water at a preconditioned temperature of approximately 70oF (21oC). ACRYLIC RESIN can be applied at temperatures of 45oF (7oC) and rising. Relative humidity must be below 85%. For use as an admixture: Thoroughly mix ACRYLIC RESIN and water at a preconditioned temperature of approximately 70oF (21oC). Add the ACRYLIC RESIN and water blend to the mixing device prior to adding selected mortar. Slowly add all of the mortar. Continue mixing for 3 to 5 minutes, or until a uniform lump-free mixture is attained. Avoid over-mixing, which could entrap air. With V-KRETE/VANTEK SLAT PATCH: 1 part ACRYLIC RESIN with 3 parts water for general repairs With cement, mortar, and stucco: 1 part ACRYLIC RESIN with 3 parts water Product Application When used as a bonding agent: Uniformly apply by roller, brush, or spray. Avoid puddling or run-off. If necessary, apply a second coat in order to maintain a wet surface prior to mortar placement. When used as an admixture: The surface must be saturated, but without standing water. Apply a prime coat of ACRYLIC RESIN and water mixed 1:2 with water prior to placement of the mortar mix. Then place and trowel apply the mortar to the desired finish. ACRYLIC RESIN is not required as an admix if the mortar will be coated with epoxy.
