Frequently Asked Questions:

1) What carriers does Hog Slat use to ship packages internationally?
Hog Slat web order shipments to Canada are sent using UPS. If the shipment is not sent through UPS, it will be sent through DHL. Heavy and oversized items will be palletized and shipped via LTL freight carrier.

2) Can I give you my UPS account number to use for the shipping charges?
Yes. Hog Slat will accept customer UPS account numbers for shipping charges and payment of all applicable tariffs/duties and customs brokerage charges. Please contact us after placing your order if you wish to use this option.

3) Do I have to have a customs broker to receive a shipment from the USA into Canada?
Yes, for certain shipments depending on how they're shipped.

• For small parcel shipments that will be sent using UPS or DHL, if the customer does not already have an existing customs broker on file UPS/DHL will act as the customs broker and collect any applicable fees/charges for this service at the time of delivery.
• For LTL (less-than-truckload) or other palletized shipments the customer will be required to have their own customs broker and provide Hog Slat with their customs broker's information after placing an order and before any of it can be shipped from our facilities. Hog Slat does not provide any customs brokerage or importer of record services to our customers. If you do not have an existing customs broker on file, please contact us at and we can provide you with a list of suggested options that our customers have used in the past.

The Hog Slat web sales department operates between 8:00am - 5:00pm ET Monday through Friday. Orders placed after 3:00 pm ET will not begin processing until the following business day.

• Please allow 3-5 business days of processing time after we receive your payment until your shipment is ready to be picked up by the freight carrier.
